Merger Announcement – Pearson Hards and Chapmans Solicitors
Pearson Hards and Chapmans
We are pleased to announce that Chapmans Solicitors join us as of today, Thursday, 1st October. Chapmans, who have been in Sutton since 1950, will move to our offices in New Malden, bringing their two partners and five staff with them. Partners Andrew Findlay and Jonathan Throp join the partnership team at Pearson Hards with immediate effect.
We firmly believe that the addition of their team will mean better provision of legal services for our existing clients and we look forward to welcoming Chapman’s clients from 1 October.
Long established ties with Chapmans
We have enjoyed a long standing relationship with the Chapmans team over many years – in fact Donald first met Jonathan from Chapmans at school in Sutton!
Donald says “I am very pleased that this opportunity has arisen to join together to provide an even higher quality of service and wider range of services to the merged firms’ clients. While Jon and I are happy that we and our firms and staff will be able to work together - above all, our aim in this merger is to do the best we can for our clients.”
Jonathan says “Over the years we have come across each other professionally and on occasions, have used our friendship to pick each other’s brains. We soon realised we had a common outlook and desire to be able to offer clients a better service based on local provision and that a merger of our firms would enable us to deliver this. Both our firms have been in practice for many years with a large and wide client base and it seemed like a natural fit. We look forward to welcoming our clients to the new office.”
About Chapmans Solicitors
Chapmans in Sutton offers a range of legal expertise. Partner Andrew Findlay brings his expertise in private client work and Partner Jonathan Throp brings his expertise in conveyancing.
Chapmans was founded in 1950 by John Chapman, a former City solicitor, who wished to work closer to his home in Cheam.
It quickly gained a reputation for delivering friendly and efficient legal services to its clients both locally and further afield. Jonathan’s father, John, was with the firm for over 40 years from the mid 1950s and was largely responsible for its successful growth. His guiding principles have led the firm to the point where the merger with Pearson Hards is a natural progression to enable it to thrive still further.
We value the legal expertise and local knowledge that the Chapmans team bring to us and look forward to working together in New Malden.
