We’ve saved the Grand Parade
Pearson Hards has stepped in to save the Grand Parade during the festival of Malden Fortnight.
The much-loved parade was in danger of being cancelled after the police said they were no longer willing or financially able to provide security.
We were only too pleased to come to the rescue of the organisers and preserve the parade for the benefit of the town and all the visitors who flood into the High Street to watch it.
Malden Fortnight starts on Friday, July 3, with the parade the next day.
Last year’s parade theme was ‘Carnival’ in recognition of the World Cup taking place in Brazil. This year, the theme is ...wait for it... ‘Christmas’! The idea is to raise awareness and much needed cash for New Malden’s High Street Christmas Lights fund.
The parade will start from Christ Church carpark at 2.15pm and we hope you can come along and enjoy the fun.
